When I was a Child _ kyrahm

When i was a child (Human installations 0-II drawing)
Quando ero piccola
(Human Installations 0-II drawing)
by Kyrahm

Are you asleep or dead?
My Mother the shell, I the daughter but mud.
I’m alove, can’t you hear me breathing?
I thought it was the wind.

Through this performance I attempt to rediscover the connection, the bond with my mother.
The reference to Klimt is only whispered.
I create corresponding painting versions from my live performances Human Installations 0-II. So I am able to give a discernable image to the fleeting nature of performance art. During Human Installation 0: Chrysalis I was closed in a cocoon in one of Rome’s squares. My basic needs were seen to by my real mother. After 27 hours i came out of the cocoon and begun to recover by eating and washing at the theater. This was the initial stage of Human Installation II: Life Cycle inspired by the phases of existence: an 18 day old baby cries because he is hungry, and elderly people show their bodies.
The 18 day old baby is one of the youngest actors in the history of theater and Performance Art. In 2009 Kyrahm creates this performance and in 2011 Lady Gaga presents a very similar performance at the Grammy Awards
