The voluntary isolation is the illusion of feeling safe.

Locked in a cocoon for 24 hours, Kyrahm is looked after by Julius Kaiser who takes care of her basic needs night and day.

A webcam is positioned inside the Chrysalis and will remain active for all the duration of the performance, connected to Human Instalation WEB TV and broadcasted for the whole duration of the performance.

“We want to focus our attention to the importance of the act of sharing, thus the collective ritual”. Artists and curators from around the world are participating to this event by broadcasting the live stream from their physical and virtual spaces.

Kyrahm will come out from the cocoon after 24 hours. The recovery will bring her back to life renewed.

Human Installations WebTV is an independent channel created by Kyrahm and Julius Kaiser and dedicated to new forms of body experimentations, performance art, body art, live art. “Through live streaming we seek an interaction between private and public space, an extension of the “hic et nunc”, and the interdisciplinary of the languages of communication”.

Background
Kyrahm created the performance Human Installation 0: Chrysalis in 2009. She remained closed in the cocoon for 27 hours in the middle of a square of Rome, looked after by her own mother who cared about her basic needs. The performance, broadcasted in live streaming, opened Mut-Azioni Profane, Body performance art festival conceived by her and curated together with Julius Kaiser. In 2010 Chrysalis was present at the V International Contemporary Art Biennale in Ferrara (Italy). In 2012 it was awarded with the Premio Adrenalina at the Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Roma. In 2013 it was presented at the event Culturanze.
