Human Installation IV: the Jeweler - Il gioielliere from KYRAHM on Vimeo.

  The Jeweler -
Performance Art by KYRAHM
in collaboration with Julius Kaiser

The Jeweler” (Il gioielliere) was presented as an accompanying event at the Venice Arts Festival (Biennale di Venezia) along with Blue Wedding by Annie Sprinkle e Beth Stephens
Violence on women does not belong to an era, it has no boundaries, it is endemic and spares no race, no nation, no country, whether industrialized or emerging. Violence on women has no social-cultural limits, victims and aggressors belong to every social class. The greatest danger is often within the family – husbands, fathers, followed by friends, neighbours and work colleagues. According to OMS, one out of every five women, in their life time has been a victim of physical or sexual abuse by a man (Sdamy).

(Version Marie's Baby for Woyzeck Primo Studio a project with Cercle)
"Why so pale, Marie? Why this red necklace around your neck? Who d'you earn
the necklace from with all your sins?" (Georg Büchner)

Franz Woyzeck, a poor soldier stationed in a provincial town in Germany, lives with Marie and their child born out of wedlock, therefore not blessed by the Church.
Woyzeck earns extra money for his family by performing menial jobs. Meanwhile, Marie grows tired of Woyzeck and has a sexual relationship with a drum major who gives her jewels.
When Woyzeck discovers this affair he kills Marie.
The effects on Marie’s body compose the whole of Woyzeck’s narrative meaning: on one side the barter of jewles in exchange for injuring the flesh represents the atavistic theme of the differences of social classes and of the power games associated with gender roles
However, Marie’s Baby also represents the brutal violence often carried out on women leading to murder

With Marie's Baby, I’ve tried to shift the attention to the baby: the arguments between the parents, it’s the children who suffer the consequences.
The baby projected on the tummy is the same video art version of Human Installations.

Another version is with the violist Luca D'Alberto
